1-to-1 personal training

Coaching built around one person: you

Every session is planned in advance, coached in person, and adjusted to what your body and your week can actually handle.

Getting strong again

You used to train, life got busy, and starting over feels awkward. I'll build you back from where you are now — proper technique first, load second.

Losing fat and keeping it off

Training that supports a sustainable deficit, paired with habits you can hold on a normal week. No meal plans you'll abandon by Thursday.

Training around a niggle

Bad back, dodgy knee, stiff shoulder. Sessions are programmed around what hurts, so you keep progressing instead of stopping.

How it works

Three steps to your first session

1

Free session

A proper training session at the studio, completely free and with no obligation. We'll also talk through your goal, your history, your schedule and what has and hasn't worked for you before.

2

Movement assessment

During that first session I'll look at how you move, what you can load safely, and where the restrictions are. That sets the starting point for your programme.

3

Start training

You get a written programme and a standing slot in the diary. On a lifestyle package, every week I review how your training went and send you feedback, so you always know exactly what to focus on next.

About

Hi, I'm Dan

I coach people in Southampton who want to get stronger, move better and feel like themselves again — without turning their whole life upside down to do it.

Most of my clients are working adults juggling jobs, kids and commutes. That reality shapes how I coach: realistic session counts, programmes that survive a bad week, and honest conversations about what's actually going to move the needle.

I'm a Level 3 Personal Trainer with a BSc in Sports and Exercise Science, first aid certified, fully insured and DBS checked. In practice that means I can explain the reasoning behind everything you're doing — not just hand you a programme and count reps.

The studio is in the Mountbatten Business Centre, just off the city centre, with parking right outside. Clients come in from Winchester, Fareham and Lyndhurst as well as across Southampton itself.

What clients say

— Cheryl, Eastleigh

"He completely takes away the 'gym scaries' and makes training something I actually look forward to. What I really value is that he finds the perfect solution for you and your goals, not just what works for him. Couldn't recommend him enough!"

— Harry, Southampton

"I have had numerous trainers in London and Dan is one of the best, if not the best, I have had. He explains the mechanics and reasoning behind everything, and sets you on the right path with nutrition knowledge and a variety of plans to suit any lifestyle."

FAQs

Questions people ask before they start

How much does personal training cost in Southampton?

A standalone session with me is £45. Sessions booked as part of a lifestyle package work out between £40 and £50 per session, and include full programming and accountability between sessions.

Where are you based?

My studio is at Unit 5 Viceroy House, Mountbatten Business Centre, Southampton SO15 1HY, with free parking on site. Clients travel in from across Southampton, Winchester, Fareham and Lyndhurst.

Do I need to be fit before I start?

No. I start every programme with an assessment of where you are right now, and build the first block around your current strength, mobility and schedule.

How many sessions a week do I need?

Most clients train with me once or twice a week and follow a written programme for their other sessions. I'll recommend the right frequency at your free session, based on your goal and your diary.

What's the difference between a single session and a lifestyle package?

A single session is just that — an hour of coached training, with no programme and no accountability between sessions. A lifestyle package includes structured programming, nutrition and habit support, and check-ins between sessions.
